This place is a true Norwegian gem! More than a restaurant, it is an experience! This cafe/restaurant has tasty coffee, amazingly delicious baked goods, a wide selection of local beverages, and some of the best pizzas made with a wood fired oven. Not only that though, it also has a small aquarium, a local art exhibit, and regular live music performances. It even hosts a marine biology camp for children during the summer. Right on the water, it’s an amazing location, and has become a local gathering place, and a spot to soak up the local culture. The service was fantastic and the owner is extremely friendly and helpful. I would highly recommend anybody coming to Balestrand to stop by for a visit. You won’t be disappointed!

The pizza is AMAZING. However the food takes a while, we came the first day and waited an hour and a half for 2 pizzas when at roughly 1/5th capacity. The 2nd day we came in and waited at the front desk for over 10 minutes before being acknowledged, then was told to wait longer. Still great food though.

Cute cultural hub and cafe right on the pier. We stopped here a few times for coffee, baked goods, beer, and ice cream (try the licorice flavor!) They also have a fridge full of colorful juices and kombuchas and a real pizza oven. They happened to be hosting a gallery exhibit and piano performance, both by local artists. This community spot with comfortable seating was the perfect place to recharge and catch some local flavor while we were in town.

One of the coolest places I’ve gone. They really have everything here! Amazing food, beautiful seating areas, ice cream, drinks, they have it all. Really kind workers. Must visit!
